134001 Fuel Filter Housing Cap Duramax 6.6L L5P Gold Aluminum

It fits the 2017-2020 GM 6.6L Duramax L5P fuel filter housing on the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD / 3500HD, and the same housing on the 2014-2015 Cruze 2.0L and 2017-2019 Cruze 1.6L diesel. It does not fit the 2011-2016 LML housing, which uses a different cap.

No O-ring is included. The original cap's O-ring is normally still serviceable, so it is reused: transfer it to the new cap before fitting. Replace it only if it is hard, flattened or nicked, in which case a new seal is needed before the cap goes back on.

The moulded plastic cap becomes brittle after heat cycles and cracks at the hex when it is torqued or removed. The 6061-T6 billet body is machined from solid material, so the hex and thread hold up to the same torque without cracking, and the sealing face stays flat.

Aluminium against aluminium corrodes together, which is why the original aluminium drain screw seizes in the housing. The stainless plug avoids that material pairing, so the drain screw still turns when the water needs to be drained at service.

Check the O-ring and the sealing face of the housing before fitting, and do not overtighten: the cap seals on the O-ring, not on torque. It carries a 90-day warranty against manufacturing defects, covering the cap and drain plug themselves.
