PF457GO is a cartridge element. It drops into the engine-mounted housing on top of the cylinder head and is held by the original 24 mm plastic cap, with a 74 mm O-ring sealing it. No metal can is involved.

PF457G is the ACDelco part number and PF457GO is the same element sold under the service designation used on later GM parts lists. Both are 62.1 mm across the top and 67 mm tall, and both use a 74 mm O-ring, so either one fits the same housing.

No. The 2.0L turbo LTG engine in the Regal GS and Malibu 2.0T uses a different cartridge, commonly ACDelco PF64 or an equivalent. PF457GO covers the naturally aspirated 2.2L and 2.4L Ecotec engines only.

The cap on these Ecotec housings is tightened to 25 N·m (18 lb-ft) with a 24 mm socket. Going past that can crack the plastic cap or strip the housing thread, and both end in a leak.

Every oil change, which on these engines is 5,000 to 7,500 miles with full synthetic oil. The cam chain tensioner is oil-pressure fed, so a loaded element that drops pressure reaches the timing chain as well as the bearings.
