❓ FAQ

Yes. The same cap covers the 6.0L Powerstroke from 2003 to 2007 and the 6.4L from 2008 to 2010, both in the F-250 to F-550 Super Duty. The 6.0L Excursion from 2003 to 2005 uses it too.

Yes, one O-ring is in the box. The O-ring sits under the cap and seals against the housing, so a new one goes on with the cap rather than the old hardened ring.

It is a plugged 1/8 in NPT port for an oil pressure or temperature sender. Remove the plug and screw the sender in; nothing has to be drilled and no adapter is needed.

It replaces the same part numbers and fits the same housing, but the body is 6061-T6 billet aluminium with a silver anodised finish instead of moulded plastic. The plastic version is listed separately.

25 Nm, which is 18 lb-ft. That is the figure the factory cap uses as well; going past it is what splits the plastic cover on the standard part.

MOQ varies by product: 5–100 units for standard parts (see product page). Tier pricing decreases with volume. Custom parts usually ≥ 50 units, evaluated by process.

Description

Product Overview

EC781 is the aluminium oil filter cap that closes the cartridge housing on top of the Ford 6.0L and 6.4L Powerstroke, and it goes on in place of the factory plastic cover. It threads onto the same housing, holds the same O-ring, and takes a 1-3/8 in (35 mm) socket on a B100 x P3 thread, so the FL2016 cartridge underneath is changed exactly as before. A plugged 1/8 in NPT port in the top is the one addition: it saves drilling a hole when an oil pressure or temperature sender is fitted.

Key Features

Billet body instead of moulded plastic — the factory cover splits around the hex when it is over-tightened; a 6061-T6 body takes the same 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) without cracking.
1/8 in NPT port, plugged as supplied — an oil pressure or temperature sender screws straight in, with no drilling and no adapter.
Silver anodised finish — protects the machined surface against corrosion in the engine bay and stays readable after a few service rounds.
New O-ring in the box — the seal is supplied with the cap, so the old hardened one does not have to go back on.
Same socket size as the factory cap — 1-3/8 in (35 mm), so the tool already in the box still fits.
